Foreign investors’ chamber to continue investment promotion in BangladeshThe Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (henceforth ‘the Chamber’) FICCI delegation led by the President Mr. Naser Ezaz Bijoy, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Standard Chartered Bank met the new Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Mr. Lokman Hossain Miah today, October 20, 2022, at BIDA premises.
The FICCI delegation congratulated the new Executive Chairman and expressed their interest to work hand in hand with BIDA as the previous years. Chamber appreciates that BIDA holds the relationship with FICCI even during the crisis periods like global pandemic. Mr. Lokman Hossain Miah also appreciated the delegation for taking the opportunity to meet him and discuss the scopes of working together to build a better investment friendly economy. FICCI, as a key partner of BIDA, has embraced several spirited actions that express some core priorities, and aim to continue to engage in bringing forth purposeful change through working more closely with the Government. FICCI President mentioned to continue investment promotion and seek support from BIDA in the process. Importantly, FICCI’s resilient efforts to improve the investment climate of Bangladesh is always appreciated by BIDA and allow its members to conduct business with ease by reshaping the economy. It was overall a very engaging meeting which may lead to various future collaborative activities between FICCI and BIDA in different investment sectors of Bangladesh.
The meeting was also attended by FICCI board of directors including Dr. Riad Mamun Prodhani, Managing Director & Country President, Novartis (Bangladesh) Ltd; Engr. Abdur Rashid, Managing Director, SGS Bangladesh Limited and T. I. M. Nurul Kabir, Executive Director, FICCI.
