MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Members, Colleagues, and Stakeholders,

 

It is with great pleasure that we present the July 2025 edition of our monthly bulletin, centered on a theme that aligns closely with FICCI's vision: "Unlocking Competitiveness: Bangladesh's Next Leap in Trade & Investment." This issue reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering foreign direct investment (FDI) and promoting Bangladesh as a dynamic, business-friendly destination in the global marketplace. It delves into the urgent need for strategic reforms and progressive policy shifts to propel the nation forward.

 

Bangladesh is at a defining moment in its development journey. As we approach middle-income status, sustaining economic momentum will require enhanced competitiveness across all sectors. Strengthening the ease of doing business, updating regulatory frameworks, and addressing infrastructure and workforce skill gaps are no longer optional-they are critical to our successful integration into global value chains.

 

We are encouraged by recent govemment efforts aimed at improving investor services. Initiatives undertaken by BIDA to streamline approval mechanisms and strengthen the one-stop service platform are steps in the right direction. Equally promising are policy discussions focused on tax reform, customs modernization, and the adoption of digital and green technologies to drive productivity and long-term resilience.

 

At FICCI, we firmly believe that attracting quality investment must be supported by a transparent, efficient, and predictable business environment. Reforms in areas such as trade facilitation, taxation, logistics, and digital governance are essential to unlocking new growth opportunities for both domestic and foreign investors.
